We consider ourselves incredibly lucky for many reasons, but one of the biggest of these is that we have incredible friends back home in the U.S.A. who are willing to fly over to Paris for a weekend! So this weekend, 2 pairs of friends hopped on flights to Charles de Gaulle airport, and our London friends hopped a train, and we had an epic weekend of 10 friends hanging out in the City of Lights!
It of course started with a trip to La Grande Epicerie at Bon Marche to purchase mini cans of wine.

Cheers! Sante! |

We had to have dinner at our local fave, Eggs & Co. |
On Friday the girls took some time to go shopping on the right bank while the boys went for drinks at Harry's Bar, an American classic in the heart of Paris. We found the Bucknell pennant that the Robbins family had contributed to the bar a few years ago!
After our Bloody Mary's, we headed to the Marais to check out the hip concept store,
Merci. They
carry everything from jewelry and clothing to housing wares and
furniture. There's even a cute little cafe and this sweet little red
car!

BHV- where you can go for anything you could ever need in Paris! |
We walked through the city on one of our favorite loops
through the Marais, past Notre Dame and Hotel de Ville. I really loved
the street performer at BHV (department store) whose talent was making
massive bubbles that made these kids grin from ear to ear!
For dinner we prepared this array of fine meats and cheeses. I only wish I had an "after" photo for comparison!
On Saturday evening, Jeff, Rebecca, Peter and I had tickets to attend the Pitchfork Music Festival up at the Parc de la Villette. We heard a few great bands including Stornoway, Jans Lekman and the headlining band, Bon Iver. They were all fantastic and we had a great time.

After the concert we met back up with the rest of our group to go out for drinks and plan the rest of our fun weekend together!

On Sunday morning, we had to head to the food market on Boulevard Raspail.
|
Is it cauliflower? Broccoli? A seashell? |
|
Happy Halloween! |
And afterwards, we went up to Le Baron Rouge, (for our second weekend in a row) for oysters and charcuterie plates and carafs of wine out on the street.

This truck had two avacado halves resting on the bumper. Strange. |

Nick and Sean rode bikes back home and the girls met them there later. |
