Road Trip 2011 - Day 14

We left Orta San Guilio on Tuesday morning and headed for Torino. The city felt very quiet and perhaps vacation season has drawn many of the locals away from the city to the beaches. But we had a nice time touring the city, and of course enjoyed some great food. Serving large plates of appetizers seems to be all the rage here.

Cacio e pepe at Eataly
Our pastas at Eataly, our favorite food stop in Torino. (There's one in NYC too!)
A trip to the Egyptian Museum
A preserved mummy from 3,000 years ago.
Our day trip to Barolo
Shaved fennel and guinea fowl salad
Grapes hanging over our table in Barolo as we ate lunch.
After two days in Torino, exploring the city and the countryside, we headed back into France! Our first stop was two nights in Nice. We really took it easy, walking into town, visiting the Marche aux Fleurs, shopping and relaxing on the beach.
